Bobby Jones Nolen

Mr. Bobby Jones "Jim" Nolen, age 73, a resident of Lusk Road in Columbia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Nolen will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. William Owens and Rev. Dickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late William Ethridge Nolen, Sr. and Zula Nance Nolen. Mr. Nolen was the husband of Ruth M. Bolton Nolen of Columbia. He was retired from Hall and Knox Mining Company and was an avid deer hunter. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Bobby Teri Nolen of Summertown, Brenda Danny Clifton of Columbia and Belinda Nolen of Columbia; grandchildren: Charity Terry Lovett of Lynnville, Cayce Wood of Summertown, Candace Raen Henderson of Summertown, Lindsey Rodney Howell of Mt. Pleasant and Bubba Clifton of Columbia; great-grandchildren: Gage and Kali Lovett, Dayton Owens, T.J. Fish, A.J. Wood, Kara Sims and Carson Howell; sisters: Icy Hershel Bolton, Ollie Mae Odom, Jennie Ronnie Fuller, Betty Wayne Thompson and Wilma M.W. Edwards. He was preceded in death by brothers: William Ernest "Bill" Nance and William E. Nolen, Jr., and brothers-in-law; Ernest O. Odom and J.P. Bolton.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Clifton, Rodney Howell, Terry Lovett, Raen Henderson, Donald Collins and Jeff Knox. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Clifton, Tillman Knox, Ronnie Fuller and Tommy Bolton.
