Bobby Joe Grooms

Bobby Joe Grooms, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Bobby was born on January 27, 1936, to the late Robert Grooms and Maggie Norman Grooms in Maury County, Tennessee.

Bobby was a one-of-a-kind man. He was strong and hardworking. He loved to spend his free time fishing and playing bingo as much as he could. He also served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a survivor and supported his family no matter what. Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bobby is preceded in death by his loving wife: Janice Workman Grooms; siblings: Jimmy Grooms, Donald Grooms, David Grooms, Sylvia Pigg, and Linda Aydelott, granddaughter: Michelle Grooms; and parents.

Bobby is survived by his children: Deborah Kay Flores, Bobby Joe "Joey" Grooms, Jr; and Jeffrey (Paula)DeWayne Grooms; grandchildren: Michael Grooms, Jeremy Grooms, Jamie Grooms, and Harly Rae Grooms; siblings: Ronald Grooms, Leon (Rita) Grooms, Floye (Roger) Malugin, and Joye (Danny) Davidson; special friend: Evadene Williamson numerous great-grandchildren and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Grooms, Jeremy Grooms, Jamie Grooms, Ramon Bilon, Juan Bilon, and Mitch Williamson.

A service for Bobby will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with Bro. Jim Ledbetter officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee on December 6, 2022. Bobby will be laid to rest beside his wife at Polk Memorial Gardens.
