Mr. Bobby Gene Nichols, age 79, a resident of Campbellsville Pike in Lynnville, passed away on Saturday, May 31, at Alive Hospice of St. Thomas in Nashville.
Services for Mr. Nichols will be conducted Tuesday, June 3 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Theodore Durham, Randy McNeece and Mike Kinnard officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Giles County, he was the son of the late Sank and Mable Marshall Nichols. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, former owner of Zingerell's Market in Mt. Pleasant and worked for Stauffer Chemicals.
Survivors include three sisters: Sarah Ronnie Burroughs of Columbia, Peggy Larry McNeece and Shirley R.L. Cummins, both of Mt. Pleasant. He was a special uncle to his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son: Joseph Michael "Joe" Nichols; brothers: Billy Nichols and G.C. Nichols; sisters: Gladys Amick and Rachel Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Dylan McNeece, Bryan Adams, Tommy Adams, Jamie Cummins, Danny Cummins, Bob Cummins, Terry Green and Shane Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Vandygriff, Jerry Green and Ian McNeece.
