Mr. Bobby Edward Massey, 73, a resident of Joy Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral service for Mr. Massey will be conducted Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Phillip Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Henry and Ruby Mai Trigg Massey, Sr. and husband of Sammie Sesler Massey of 47 years. He was a farmer, Korean War Veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Darryl Kathleen Massey and Harold Dean Mary Massey, both of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson, Darryl Andrew Massey of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Henry Myra Massey, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Helen McMahon of Oak Ridge, TN; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Tiller, Stanley Massey, Ricky Jones, Larry Jones, Mike Jones and Jim McMahon, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Marlin, Murray Himes, Charles Jacobs, Willard Grimes, Odell Haywood, Earl Cooper, Tommy Kennedy, Ed Tiller, Aubrey Garrett, Dr. Andrew Sisk, Dr. Thomas Landon, Dr. John Simmons, Dr. Deborah Goldsmith, members of the First United Methodist Church and all the nurses and staff that took care of Bobby during his illness.
