Mr. Bobby E. Littlejohn, age 77, a resident of Cayce Lane, passed away on Monday, April 6 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Littlejohn will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Hugh Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born on May 16, 1931, in Columbia, he was the son of the late Herbert Baxter Littlejohn and Clatie Mae Johnson Littlejohn. Bobby was the husband of fifty years of Arliss Shirley Littlejohn of Columbia. He was a 1950 graduate of Columbia Central High School where he lettered in baseball and later played with the American Legion Post 19. Bobby was retired from Southern Bell in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. His love for baseball extended to his final hours during which he watched 13 hours of his favorite sport with his daughter, Valerie. Bobby loved gospel music and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children: Allen Littlejohn of Hope Mills, NC, Valerie Jim Bumpus of Columbia and Kenneth Cindy Littlejohn of Homestead, Fla.; grandchildren: Michael Anna Littlejohn of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jason Littlejohn of Sacramento, Calif., Rusty Littlejohn of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jimmy Amy Bumpus of Lewisburg, Drew Bumpus of Columbia, Matthew Littlejohn, Kevin Littlejohn and Kyle Littlejohn, all of Homestead, Fla.; great-grandchildren: Rylee Littlejohn, Olivia Littlejohn and Rowan Littlejohn, all of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Alora Littlejohn of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother: Lloyd Allen Littlejohn of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Mary Katherine McCracken and Virginia Rae Sarge Westmoreland, both of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: George Leland Littlejohn, Hazel Baxter Littlejohn and W.C. Littlejohn.
Mr. Littlejohn's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Pete Harlan Sunday School Class of St. Luke United Methodist Church, Columbia Central Class of 1950, staff of the South Central Heart Group and Dr. Paul Perryman and staff.
The family has requested memorial donations be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 606 Santa Fe Pike, Columbia, TN 38401 or the American Heart Association, 1818 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
