Birdie Marie Wright, age 71, of Columbia, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 2, 2017.
Birdie was born February 5, 1946 in Columbia, the daughter of the late Charles King and Dovie Burgett Martin. She was the wife of 13 years of the late Tony Wright. She worked in the health care field as a nursing technician and was of the Baptist faith. Birdie loved her kids, enjoyed cooking and loved Jesus. She loved watching her shows, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie. She loved her dogs Tuff and Pooh and her daughter’s dog, Precious, whom she babysat while she was at work.
Survivors include her children, Susie (Kenny Marshall) Hay and Rodney (Mary Fix) Bowie; grandchildren, Angela Kelley, April White, John Cummins, Dakota Hay, Kayla Baker and Chase Sneed; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Kelley, Christian Bobo, Maria Morales, Jace Kelley, Valerie Cummins, Kaizlyn Baker, Kaiden White and Rylan White, along with her special friend, Ann Edmiston.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
