Billy Ray Brooks, age 51 , a resident of Randlin Drive in Culleoka, passed away April 22, 2008 from an accidental drowning in the Duck River.
Graveside services for Billy Ray will be conducted
2:00 PM Tuesday, May 6, at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Georgina Bearden officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Maury County native was the son of the late L.B. Brooks and the late Annie Mildred McCoy Himes. He worked for Dwight Fox in tree service and Jr. Gray's Wrecker Service along with other manual labor jobs.
Survivors include his sisters: Carol James Dillehay Eneks of Columbia and Jennifer King of Culleoka; brother: Jerry Cindy Brooks of Williamsport; nieces and nephews: Steven Barnett, Aliceson Barnett, Dakota Eneks, Brittany King, Faith King, Tharin Brooks and Chad Brooks. He was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby Brooks and an uncle: Leroy McCoy.
Pallbearers will be Chris Rose, Larry Boshers, Allen Lancaster, Tyler Lancaster, James Dillehay, Steven Barnett, David Melton and Steve Cross.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the people, both locally and from surrounding counties, who helped during the search and rescue of their brother, Billy Ray Brooks. They wish to extend a special thanks to the fishermen who discovered his body on Saturday.
