Billy Owens, age 77, passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center October 4, 2013. He was born May 16, 1936 to the late William Arthur Owens and Pearl Bates.
Billy was a patriot and honorably served the United States during the Korean War in the Army Chemical Core. He worked as a truck driver for many years before finally retiring. Billy loved fishing and camping and spending time with his family and beloved dog Molly Sue.
The family will be visiting with friends, Sunday October 6, 2013 between 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home Columbia and 2:00-3:00 PM Monday October 7. Services will be held Monday October 7, 2013 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Santa Fe Cemetery. Bro. Allen Armstrong will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Goats, Tim Potts, and Teddy Bear.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: The dog he loved Molly Sue; Caregivers: Sabrina Clark and Earlean Barnes; and special friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn Sue Oliver and two brothers: Charles (Dot) Owens of Santa Fe and Junior (Dean) Owens of Lewisburg.
Billy is survived by his wife of 43 years Martha Ann Owens; Brothers: Jimmy Owens and Bobby Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
