Billy L. Smith

Billy L. Smith was born February 13, 1946 in Giles County, the son of the late Arthur and Arbell Pierce Smith. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and had worked as a trucking supervisor for General Trucking. Billy was a member of the Church of Christ.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Estes Davidson Smith of Lynnville; daughter, Jennifer Smith-Dubberley William of Pulaski; sons Billy Lee Smith, Jr., Felica of Lawrenceburg and Joe Allen Davidson Alana of Columbia; siblings, Rebecca Wallace Raymond of Columbia, Charles Smith of Nashville, Danny Smith Barbara of Pulaski and Charlotte Nix of Pulaski; five grandchildren, Angelia Chambers Joe, Kendra Smith, Devon Dubberley, Tyler Dubberley and Logan Dubberley and two great-grandchildren, Allie and Jayden along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers Timothy Allen Smith and Lendon P. Smith and one sister, Barbara Jean Malone.

Funeral services for Billy will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Mack Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Dubberley, Lynn Archer, Dennis Archer, Preston Archer, William Dubberley and Lee Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Fisher Pharmacy.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the Oncology Unit at Maury Regional Medical center, Caris Health Care and Dr. Steven Smith for their exceptional care during his stay.
