Mr. Bill J. McGrew, 77, a resident of Candlewood Court in Columbia, passed away Friday December 23, 2005 at his residence.
A memorial services for Mr. McGrew will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Parkway Baptist Church in Columbia with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church. Williams Funeral in Columbia will be in charge of the arrangements.
Born in Yuma, AZ, he was the son of the late Asa King and Threse Perkins McGrew and widow of Joan Marie Oliver McGrew. He was a retired Geologist from Exxon, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, chaplin of the Elk?s Lodge, member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19 and a member of the Parkway Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Russell Scott of Bartlett, TN and Janice John Sims of Minneola, KS; a son, Jim Brenda McGrew of Dalton, GA; four grandchildren, Megan McGrew and Brian McGrew, both of Dalton, GA, Hannah and Curtis Scott, both of Bartlett, TN. He was preceded in death by a son, Ben McGrew.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Elk?s Lodge and members of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
