Bevley Anderson Dodson

Mr. Bevley Anderson Dodson, 90, a resident of Goshen Road in the Water Valley Community, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Dodson will be conducted Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Jim Gardner and Kenvin Sisk officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin Post #19.The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of late Will and Polkie Haynes Dodson and husband of the late Esterlene Dodson. He was a retired farmer and grounds supervisor at Columbia State Community College, where some of the trees planted at Columbia State were transplanted from the family farm at Water Valley. A veteran of the US Army, he served in WWII in the South Pacific and was awarded a Bronze Star, three Bronze Service Stars, AP Service Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon and the Philippines Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of the Mt. Wesley-Akin Nazarene Church and the American Legion Herbert Griffin Post #19.
He is survived by three sons, Anderson Barbara Dodson of Williamsport, Frank Linda Dodson of Jackson, TN and George Annette Dodson of Santa Fe; a daughter, Zonelle Stan Kozich of Fairview; eight grandchildren, Gary Dodson of NC, Terry Dodson of Lewisburg, Debbie Martin of Hickman County, Tammy Joey Shouse of Santa Fe, Tim Haywood of Mt. Juliet, Greg Dodson of Santa Fe, Jennifer Jonathan Roland of Medina, TN and Lisa Dodson of Santa Fe; three great grandchildren, J.T. Shouse and Jennifer Shouse, both of Santa Fe and Ashley Roland of Medina, TN; two nieces, Sharon Elton Sisk of Lyles and Vicki Eddie Scott of Water Valley; special friends, Paul and Karen Manley of Shady Grove. He was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin, Everett, Joe and W.B. ?Buddy? Dodson; sisters, Effie Dodson Brown, Mary Dodson and Louise Dodson.
Pallbearers will be Greg Dodson, Tim Haywood, Jonathan Roland, Joey Shouse, Daryl Brown and Paul Manley. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Farris, Carl Sellers, Harry Roundtree, Charles Pigg, Billy Haynes, J.W. Shouse, Henry Harris, Ralph Baker, J.C. Kelley and Bobby Gray.
