Mrs. Betty Ann Estes Haywood, 76, a resident of Beckum Hollow Road, passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at Hidden Acres Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Born November 16, 1934 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Estes and the late Bessie Hines Estes Shiller and the wife of Bobby Haywood of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Haywood was a sales clerk at Hallmark, a teachers aide for special needs, a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed scouts. She was a member of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: David Ginger Haywood of Mt. Joy, Danny Haywood of Tampa, FL and Janet William Richards of Spring Hill; grandchildren: David Jennifer Haywood Jr., of Nashville, Nicholas Richards and Brandon Richards, both of Spring Hill; great grandchildren: Brock Haywood and Jake Haywood, both of Nashville. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Haywood will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Estes, Harry Lanier, John Rainney, David Haywood Jr., Brandon Richards and Nicholas Richards. Honorary pallbearers will be Odell Haywood, Willard Grimes and all the men of the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
