Betty A. Woods Hunt

Mrs. Betty A. Woods Hunt, age 78, a resident of Stephens Street in Lawrenceburg, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Countryside Health Care in Lawrenceburg.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hunt will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Washington and Frances Louise Hymer Long and the wife of Carl Hunt of Lawrenceburg and the late Ollie B. Layman Woods. She did private sitting for the elderly and was a cook for Roses Department Store. She never met a stranger and loved to cook for others. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son: Randy Gretchen Woods of Mt. Pleasant; step-sons: Tony Hunt, Jerry Hodge and Don Hodge, all of Lawrenceburg and Larry Hunt of Texas; step-daughter: Belinda Reedy of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Samuel Woods and Daniel Woods, both of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchildren: Austin Woods and Hailey Woods, both of Mt. Pleasant; a special niece: Margaret Jim Carpenter.

Pallbearers will be Terry Carpenter, Jim Carpenter, Jack Patterson, Joel Odom, Sammy Odom and Darrell King.
