Betty Nolen Wren "MeMaw" or "Betty Go" went to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her husband Billy Joe on January 29, 2018.
Betty was born on May 16, 1935, to the late George and Lura Nolen in Erin, TN.
"Betty Go," was because she was always on the go! Brilliant, witty, kind, with a heart of service. Betty served as an LPN for Doctors Rayburn, Kustoff and Joynes. Combined over 54 years of nursing experience. For many years Betty and Billy Joe ran their hardware and furniture stores in the heart of downtown Mt. Pleasant, "Wren's Hardware." It could often be mistaken for a jungle gym that she allowed her grandchildren to play in when they were small. She can still be heard years later saying "Nobody cares, like Wren's Hardware!" Well versed in small-town politics, she has always remained, due to her trusty police scanner and her ability to be inherently nosy! She helped her neighbors, sat with them, fed them, comforted them, helped raise many of them. The blessing she was to so many people will never be able to be fully expressed but rather will always be felt by those whom she touched.
Betty's favorite things in life were her family, the river, crocheting, beautiful handwriting, Williams Funeral Home, traveling, her red truck and her church (First United Methodist Church).
A celebration of MeMaw's life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 11:00 am at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
