Betty Sue Elliott was born February 8, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, TN, the daughter of the late Hubert Davis and Edna Workman Davis. "Granny Sue" as she was lovingly known, loved to work word search puzzles. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved being a grandma and cherished time spent with Bubba, Jr. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Betty is survived by her husband, James, whom she married on June 17, 1960; her children, Timmy Elliott of Hohenwald, Debbie Garry Lee of Columbia, Connie Tom Pierce of Summertown and Karen Daniel Cupples of Columbia; grandchildren, Tonya Bubba Bolton of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne Bowen of Columbia, Justin Bowen of Columbia, Jennifer Elliott of Columbia, Jessica Elliott of Texas, Tom Pierce and Heaven Pierce, both of Summertown; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Nita Workman of Columbia and Joyce Massey of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Bobby Joe Davis of Giles Co., and Dickey Davis of Mt. Pleasant and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Davis and two sisters, Laura Earl Ambrose and Betty Lou Morton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Elliott will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 5:00 – 9:00 and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
