Betty Rose Crawford was born in West Frankfort, IL, on August 27, 1925. She was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude Batters Smith. Betty Rose was the wife of the late Alton Tommy Crawford. She was a homemaker and attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She traveled with her son and daughter-in-law as they worked with the Kids Fighting AIDS organization.
Survivors include her son, Richard Barbara Crawford of Columbia; grandchildren: Harold Mary Crawford of St. Louis, MO, Kimberly Randy Harvel of Lonoke, AR, Angela Jeff Thomas of Wilmington, IL, Valerie Dan Knight of LaFarge, WI, Richard Crawford, Jr., of Columbia, Victoria Crawford, Leticia Crawford, Erica Crawford and Steven Crawford, all of Columbia; 13 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren along with a special friend, Tracy Staggs. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by two grandsons: Shaffin Crawford and Robert Crawford.
Mrs. Crawford passed away on Monday, May 23, at her residence.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. in the Ledford Cemetery in Harrisburg, IL with Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating.
