Mrs. Betty Oaks "Granny" Green, 78, of Highway 20 in Summertown, died Friday, June 13, 2003 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Green will be conducted Sunday June 15, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Summertown with Reverend Milton Hicks and Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home and Sunday from 2:00 until service time at the church.

The Irvine, Kentucky native was the daughter of the late Alva and Bertha Little Oaks and the widow of Elmer Ray Green Sr. Mrs. Green was a homemaker, a long-time babysitter in Summertown and an avid gardener. She was a member and was part of the Jolly Elders of the First Baptist Church in Summertown

Mrs. Green is survived by two daughters, Kathy Jerry Burroughs of Lawrenceburg and Betty Lynn Tommy Hemby of Waverly; one son, Elmer Ray Karen Green, Jr. of Cornersville; one sister, Helen Pendergrass of Summertown; two granddaughters, Dawn Burroughs of Nashville and Kelli Green of Cornersville; a grandson, Nicholas Green of Cornersville; Special Friend, Howard Lee Henson of Mt. Pleasant; Long-time friend, Ad Ivie of Summertown; Life-long friend, Kathryn Hayes of Irvine, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Green is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Green and two brothers, Robert and Alva Oaks Jr.

Pallbearers will be Odell Perry, Billy Burdett, Butch Clark, Nicholas Green, Danny Henson and Lanny Benefield.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the membrs of the First Baptist Church of Summertown
