Betty J. Pitts

Mrs. Betty J. Kilpatrick Pitts, age 78, a resident of Lake Meadow Trail in Mt. Juliet, passed away on Friday, February 29, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pitts will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Jim Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 pm until service at the funeral home.

The Cullman, Alabama native was the daughter of the late Spencer Kilpatrick and Helen Stuart Kilpatrick. She was the widow of Albert Hunter Pitts, Sr. Mrs. Pitts was a graduate of Columbia State Community College. She was a Registered Nurse, who started her career in the Cardiac Care Unit at Maury Regional Hospital. Later, in 1977, she moved to Bel-Air Nursing Home where she was Director of Nursing. She retired from nursing as the Nursing Supervisor at McKendree Manor Village in Hermitage, TN.

Survivors include her children: Beverly Jean Pitts Stuard of Fredericksburg, VA, Leigh Ellen Pitts Larry LaFever of Mt. Juliet, TN and Albert Hunter Lisa Pitts, Jr. of King George, VA; grandchildren: Jarrod Hunter Stuard of New York, Lauren and Luke Wayne LaFever of Mt. Juliet, Christina, Hunter and Stephen Paul Pitts all of King George, VA ; two brothers: Jerry Kilpatrick of Hollywood, FL and Michael Kilpatrick of Oregon. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jimmy, Jack and Darrell Kilpatrick; one sister: Patricia Hinson.

Pallbearers will be Jarrod Hunter Stuard, Luke Wayne LaFever, Albert Hunter Pitts, III, Stephen Paul Pitts, Pitts Hinson, Bobby Hinson, Marvin Buckner, Pat Held, Bill Mott and Robert Roe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Pitts, Jr., Brian Buckner, David Roe and Joe Strickland.
