Bertha "Jean" Demastus

Bertha “Jean” Demastus, age 81 of Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at her residence.

Jean was born August 3, 1933 to the late Lyman McClung and the late Rachel Smith McClung. Jean was a homemaker and she was sweet and loved hugs, photos and her grandchildren. All who knew her, defined her as a “sweet” and loving person.

The family will visit with friends at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 11:00 A.M-1:00 P.M. with a service following at 1:00 P.M. David Morris will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors include her son Jason Demastus of Florida; son, Michael Demastus of Alabama. Daughter Pamela Daniel and husband Raymond of Columbia, TN. Daughter, Melissa King and husband Vance of Columbia, TN. Grandchildren, Kate Bray, Zachary Daniel, Gabriel Daniel, Damian Daniel, Rachel Warf, Sarah King, Sam Demastus. Great Grandchildren, Shelby Goodgine and Mihael Smith. Ms. Demastus is also survived by two sisters, Nadine Sensing of Dickson, TN and Jane Baker of Texas. And one brother, Jerry McClung of Henry,TN.

Ms. Demastus is preceded in death by her parents, and beloved husband Douglas Demastus.
