Bennie Lee Curtis

Bennie Lee Curtis, age 80, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Columbia, Tennessee.

Bennie was born in Maury County January 3, 1936 to the late Robert Maynon Curtis and the late Lillian J. Haywood Curtis. Bennie had a big personality. He never met a stranger. He was always smokin’, jokin’, and drinkin’ coffee. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending day fishing. He also loved horses and mules. Bennie will be dearly missed by all those that knew him.

Bennie is survived by his brothers: Jimmy Curtis and Ray Curtis of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters: Margarete Keltner of Summertown, TN, Dora Mae Bolton of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Donna Stills of Columbia, TN, and Kay (Larry) Curtis-Ragsdale of Culleoka, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bennie is preceded in death by his brother Douglas Curtis.

The family will receive friends Monday February 29, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services for Bennie will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant at 1:00 p.m. with brother Steve Swango officiating. Interment will follow at Bailey Cemetery in Mt. Joy, Tennessee.

Pallbearers include: Larry Ragsdale, James Bolton, Billy Bolton, Doug King, David Johnson, Danny Ragsdale.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Nurses from South East Hall at Signature Health Care, Dr. Gibran Naddy, and Diana Polk – Activity Director at Signature Health Care.
