Benjamin Bradford (Brad) Smith, 52, of Lawrenceburg died Aug. 9, 2013, at his residence.
A Lawrence County native, Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, camping and fishing the Tennessee River. He was an OMC Master Technician and well known for his mechanic skills with outboard motors. Mr. Smith was formerly employed by Jaco’s Marine, Lawrenceburg Marine and his family’s former business, Doc’s Dry Dock and Marine in Elgin, Ala. He was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his parents, David Russell (Doc) Smith Sr. and Jane Elizabeth Hughes Smith; sister Alicia Faith Smith Heaton; and nephew Stephen Dash Smith.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Williams Funeral Home, Columbia, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to cover expenses may be made to the funeral home.
Survivors include three daughters, Alaina Katlin Smith of Lawrenceburg, Sydney Paige Smith of Nashville, Lydia Madyson Smith of Minor Hill; their mother Tracy Ayers of Minor Hill; brothers, Ryan Smith and wife Leslie of Rogersville, Ala., David Smith Jr. of Killen, Ala.; uncle Jerry Hughes and wife Ann of Lawrenceburg; aunts Joyce Hughes Clark, Carolyn Hughes Alexander and husband Bill, all of Lawrenceburg; nieces; and a host of cousins and friends.
