Benjamin Jackson “Jack” “Pap” Nichols, age 60, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Jack was born on April 14, 1954 to the late Benjamin Franklin Nichols and Colleen Jackson. Jack was married to Teresa Thompson on June 28, 1974. He worked at Cytec and retired from the chemical plant after 30 years. He was a member of Sandy Hook Church of Christ. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. It was always said of Jack, “You didn’t have to be family to be Jack’s family.”
A service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee with Bro. Jeff Waldrop officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Teresa Nichols; daughters Lori (Troy) Smith and Mary Alison Nichols both of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters Mollee Elizabeth Smith and ChloeDru Smith; grandsons Payton Hunter Smith and Cullen Daniel Nichols; sister Ellen (Johnny) Akins; brothers Mike (Angie) Thompson and Ricky (Karen) Thompson; father-in-law Billy Roy Thompson; mother-in-law Joyce Cummins Thompson; aunt Jane Auvil; nieces Amber (Nathan) Owens, Tara (Austin) Simmons, Bridget (Tyler) Boshers, Michelle (David) Wilhite, and Rosa Lynn Akins; nephews Daniel Wayne (Ashley) Thompson, Gary Akins, and Rodney Sanders; and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his family Jack is survived by many close friends including Terry Thomason, Bill Hardison, Tony Foster, Steve and Debbie Harris, Richard Allen, Evert Parton, Richard James, Frank Mayes, Terry Dunn, David Workman, Bill Workman, Bobby Simmons, Evan Allen, Gary Stewart, Tim Rail, Leon Corbin, Donald Rubert, Judy Irwin, Brian Lobo, Dennis Pinkering, Tommy Ring, Danny Estes, Johnny Alred, Henry Ray, Bubba Edwards, Zeke Maddux, Jimmy Lott, Terry Kelley, Darryl Bassham, Ray Bassham, Leroy Johnson, Ron Owens, Hal Brown, Stephen Kelley, Johnny Hines, Marshall Webster, Cecil Hawkins, Mark Hayes, James Grimes, Roberta Pike, Gene Craig, Eddie Rogers, Buzz Floyd, and Robert Gilliam.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Franklin Nichols and Colleen Nichols and by good friend Little Jimmy Attkisson.
