Benjamin L. ?Ben? Goff, age 28, Columbia native and resident of Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Born in Columbia on December 17, 1982, Ben was the son of the late Janis Jennings Goff and the late Ralph E. Goff, Jr. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and was employed in sales by Dell Computer in Nashville. He was an avid fisherman and camper who enjoyed canoeing on the Duck River, Buffalo River and Tims Ford Lake. His sister, Jessi, said that he was such a likeable person and was always surrounded by a group of friends. He was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Titans, Kentucky basketball, UT Vols football and the Nashville Predators. Ben attended Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Jessi Eddie Pruett of Medina, TN; brother, Ryan Douglas of Louisville; two nephews, Alex Pruett and Clay Pruett, of Medina; uncles, Daniel Norma Jennings of Culleoka, Frank Goff of Louisville, Dale Scott Goff of Louisville, Jamie Goff of Indianapolis; aunts, Lisa Rodgers of Independence, KY and Laura Fisk also of Independence, KY; grandparents, Irene Jennings of Columbia and Ralph E. Patricia Goff, Sr., of Louisville. In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Odell Jennings.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 2:00 ? 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Fagan, Michael Musgrove, Andy Norris, Brett Wilson, Kevin Hinson, Jarrod McHenry and Derrick Sychantha.
