Belvie Joyce Garland, age 79, passed away on January 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by those who loved her in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Belvie was born on April 08, 1941, in Lawrence Co., TN to her late parents Richard and Ada Staggs Blackwood.

Joyce devoted her life to being a farmer's wife and homemaker, providing unconditional love and guidance to her children and grandchildren; not only biological but her "children by heart".

Nana Joyce enjoyed helping others while providing a stable and supportive foundation for her family and loved ones. Her family treasures the precious memories, life lessons, and strength bestowed to them by such an admirable soul. Joyce managed to see the beauty in all things and lit up the room with her spirit and humor. With every seed she planted, she took pride in helping them grow, whether it was the flowers in her garden or the many children and grandchildren whose souls she touched with her constant support and unconditional warmth.

Belvie is preceded in death by her parents, her loving mate, Hubert Levon Garland, and her sisters: Lerlean Hughes and Adell Self Stevenson.

Belvie is survived by her children: Barry Gene Henson and Beverly Diane Hernandez; step-children: Timothy Garland and Kathy Garland; grandchildren: Lacey (McCullen Fisher) Hernandez, Anthony (Paige Perry) Hernandez, Candi Hernandez, Cameron Hernandez, Bobbie Jo Lynn Henson; step-grandchildren: Jared Garland, Bryson Garland; great-grandchildren: Emma Hernandez, Ana Lucia Hernandez, Brenda Sophia, Benny Hernandez; "children by heart": Katie Van Abel, Alex Wheeley, Payton Risner, and Tony Ybarra; and her brothers: Ronnie Blackwood and Butch Blackwood.

Belvie’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at Woodmen of the World Lodge, 200 Glenn Springs Road Lawrenceburg, TN 38464 at 2:00 pm. Sympathy gifts and flowers can be sent to Beverly Hernandez 59 White Oak Drive Leoma, TN 38468.
