Mrs. Barbara V. Yoder Myatt, age 77, a longtime resident of Glenrose Drive in Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2006, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myatt will be conducted, Tuesday at 2 :00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Andrew Mayton officiating . Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4 :00 until 9 :00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Arkansas native was the daughter of Joseph Guy and Noma Dollins Yoder and the widow of Alex ?Red? Myatt, Jr. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Myatt was an employee at the General Electric Plant in Columbia and retired in March 1991. She was on the zoning committee in Columbia. She wrote numerous articles in the Nashville Banner and Daily Herald. She won a letter of the year award in the Nashville Banner before publication ceased in 1998. The article was titled ?Many People Helped Raise My Children?. She volunteered for the Salvation Army?s Angel Tree at Christmas time so that all children could experience the magic of Christmas. She volunteered at the nursing homes in Columbia by providing companionship and would read and bring them books and was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary for Post 4969 in Columbia.

Survivors include, two daughters, Sandra Clay Buttrey of Columbia and Judy Leslie Baker of Gardendale, AL; two sons, Terry Fran Myatt of Cordova, TN and Roy Mary Myatt of Liberty, TN; one sister, Pam VanZant of Nashville, TN and one brother, Dempsey Yoder of Austin, TX; grandchildren, John Myatt of Cordova, TN, Candace Vance Donahoo of Helena, AL, Benjamin Ashley Myatt of Knoxville, TN, Jesse Buttrey of Charleston, S.C., Matthew Buttrey of Saratoga, NY, Matthew Baker of Gardendale, AL, Paige Thompson of Columbia, TN and William Buttrey of Columbia, TN; great-grandson, Christopher James Donahoo of Helena, AL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alexis Diane Myatt; one sister, Theresa Ellis.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
