Barbara Ann “Travis” Skelley, 86, of Santa Fe, TN passed away on August 21, 2017.
Barbara was born on January 20, 1931 in Maury County, TN to the late Eldridge Lee Travis and Esther May Travis. She was a compassionate nurse at Maury Regional Medical Center ER, prior to her retirement. She was a loving mother, and was very proud of her seven children. She enjoyed fishing, flowers and shopping. Barbara was an avid Santa Fe School sports fan, although, she did not always agree with the referee. She proudly earned the name “Granny” throughout the Santa Fe community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Adron Skelley. Barbara was also preceded in death by her sister: Ovie Pennington and Brothers: Tom Travis and Doc Travis. She lovingly leaves behind her daughters: Dottie (Dewey) Brady of Santa Fe, Kay (Jimmy) Massey of Santa Fe, Cathey (David) Ferguson of Hohenwald, Dawn Scott of Santa Fe and Nancy (Lester) Finley of Columbia; sons: Tommy (Rita) Skelley of Columbia and Norris (Aline) Skelley of Cookeville; Grandchildren: Crystal LeMay of Santa Fe, Daniel Brady of Santa Fe, Jennifer Stewart of Santa Fe, April Johnson of Columbia, Joel Skelley of Nolensville, Kyle Skelley of Columbia, Travis Massey of Santa Fe, Brad Massey of Santa Fe, Beth Ring of Columbia, Andy Ferguson of Bethesda, Richard Ferguson of Columbia, Greg Ferguson of Columbia, Jon Ferguson of Manchester, Brad Woods of Maryville, Tiffany Pena of Jamestown, Mallori Plunkett of Santa Fe, Dayton Scott of Santa Fe, Brandon Finley of Lynnville and Caitlin Finley of Columbia. Barbara also leaves behind with love 22 Great Grandchildren with one more on the way.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 4-8 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. On Wednesday, August, 23rd visiting hours will be held with the family from 12pm-2pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1608 Hampshire Pike, Columbia. Services for Mrs. Skelley will be held directly after visiting hours at 2pm on Wednesday August 23, 2017, Bishop O’Bryant will officiate. Burial will be immediately following the service at Santa Fe Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will include Barbara's grandchildren.
