Mrs. Barbara Morton, age 74, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Nashville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Morton will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Ronald Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens .
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at 2:00 P.M.
The Illinois native was the daughter of the late Merle Dean Callison and Marie Bennett Callison. She was the wife of Roy C. Morton whom she married on July 26, 1968. She was a legal secretary for 20 years and also the church secretary for First Baptist Church in Hazel Park, MI.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three daughters: Joy Dave Shumate of Weirsdale, FL, Melody Jim Benedict of Pendleton, IN and Lori Arlis Fox of Lynnville; five grandsons: Dustin Laura Ballard of Columbia, Stephen Benedict of Pendleton, IN, Nathan Benedict of Pendleton, IN, Hunter Shumate of Weirsdale, FL, and Trey Fox of Lynnville; five granddaughters: Betsy Benedict of Pendleton, IN, Anna Benedict of Pendleton, IN, Natalie Shumate of Weirsdale, FL, Dawn Brad Baker of Culleoka and Michelle Fox of Lynnville; two great-granddaughters: Alyssa Ballard of Columbia and Savannah Baker of Culleoka and one great-grandson: Blaine Baker of Culleoka; four sisters: Marilyn Mike Langley of Wyandotte, MI, Deanna Ahac of Midland, MI, Debbie Riedlinger of Midland, MI and Doneen Sweebe of Midland, MI; two brothers: Dean Bobbi Callison of Myrtle Beach, SC and Denny Eva Callison of Holland, MI; other extended family: Vo Hutson, Rainy Dick Kirkhoff, Rosemary Bill Earl and Steve and Lisa Morton and family.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her step-mother: Wanita Callison and step-father: George Clark.
Pallbearers will be Roscoe Williams, Jim Kelly, Stephen Morton, David Paul, Daniel Paul and Nathan Paul. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Shumate, Jim Benedict, Arlis Fox and Steve Morton.
