Barbara Workman Runions, age 71 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Runions was born in Maury County on December 7, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Izar and Maggie Workman, and she was happily married to the late J.D. Runions of Mt. Pleasant for 38 years. To provide for her family, she worked as an LPN at Maury Regional Medical Center for 25 Years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing for others in her home, spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower beds, and spending time with her retired coworkers. She also was an avid collector of Barbie Dolls and Snow Babies, she owned about 500 dolls.
The family will meet with friends Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Services will be conducted Monday, August 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Randy Fox officiating. The visitation and the service will both take place in the Chapel at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with burial following at Arlington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Colvett, Mike Corter, Bill Walters, Jimmy Woodard, Doug Woodard, Trevor Woodard, Randall Johnson, and Trent Conner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Betty Rash and the past and present staff of 2nd & 5th West Nursing staff of Maury Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her children: Shawn Timmy Woodard and Sandra Runions both of Mt. Pleasant; daughter in law: Brenda Runions Fox; her most prized possessions, her grandchildren: Dottie Trent Conner of Hampshire, Brennan Runions of Mt. Pleasant, Trevor Woodard of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchildren: Cain Runions of Hampshire, Tyler Broughton of Hampshire, Wyatt Conner of Hampshire, and Kynleigh Ann Woodard of Mt. Pleasant; granddog: Molly; several sisters, brother in laws, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Douglas Wayne "Goofy" Runions and several of her brothers and sisters.
