Azzie Kennedy Mckennon

February 22, 1918 — May 19, 2002

Mrs. Azzie Myrtle "Jeanie" Kennedy McKennon, 84, a resident of Glass Street in Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, May 19, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKennon will be conducted Tuesday , May 21, 2002 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with C.V. Robinson and David Kersey officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Andrew Thomas and Lola Ray Rich Kennedy. She was the widow of Mack McKennon who died in 1979. She retired from England's Cab Company as dispatcher and former employee of Edrick Manufacturing Co. and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a avid quilter and loved hunting & fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Dolly Sherrell Green of Mt. Pleasant and Joyce Caruk of Panama City Beach , Fla. three sons; Jimmy E. Sara Tom McKennon of Mt. Pleasant, Dr. Douglas Wayne McKennon of San Diego, Ca. and Sherrill Bruce Nikki McKennon of Mt. Pleasant, one sister; Kathryne Lawrence Grimes of South Carolina. , eighteen grandchildren, twenty- nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death one daughter, Carmack Cothran; a son, Bobby Gene McKennon; granddaughter, Jessica Ann McKennon; one great grandson, also preceded in death by four brothers; Everett Kennedy, Ernest Kennedy, Jesse Kennedy and Thomas Kennedy; three sisters, Edith McKennon, Birdie Woods, and Ruthie Cummins.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Cothran, Carl Wade Lovett, Morris Wayne Green, Robbie McKennon, Todd Cothran, Justin Mack McKennon, Robert Cothran, Paul Cothran, and Jerico McKennon,
Honorary Pallbearers: All of the great -grandchildren, Nurses & Staff of Hidden Acres Nursing Home.
