Mr. Augustus "Gus" Hodge, 67, died Thursday, July 25, 2002 at his residence on Phinny Murphy Road in the McCains Community.
Funeral services for Mr. Hodge will be conducted Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Ronnie Parrish and Jimmy Rowland officiating. Burial will be in the Blowing Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Nick and Cora Workman Hodge. He was a self-employed truck driver for 48 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Colonial Meadows Church for Christ.
He is survived by a daughter, Terry Dennis Wentzel of Culleoka; a son, Barry Melinda Hodge of Mt. Pleasant; 4 sisters, Carlene "Tootsie" William Fitzgerald, Lucy Davis, and Margaret Woods of Mt. Pleasant, Julie H.E. Nelson of Ambrose, GA; 3 brothers, Nick Hodge, Jr., Clinton Hodge, and Glen Kathy Hodge all of Mt. Pleasant; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Shannon Wentzel, Justin Wentzel, and Summer Wentzel all of Culleoka, Brandon Hodge, Heather Hodge, and Arminda Hodge all of Mt. Pleasant; 1 Great Grandchild, Colton Wentzel of Culleoka; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wentzel, Justin Wentzel, Nicky Hodge, Hugh Peery, Al Danorovich, John Boyd Cothran, Mark Hodge, and Boyd Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Colonial Meadows Church for Christ.
