Mr. Atlis Woodrow Starling, 86, a resident of Mink Branch Acre Drive in Waynesboro and former long-time resident of Hollywood, Florida, died November 16, 2004 at the Alvin C. York Veterans Administation Hospital in Murfreesboro.
A private family service will be held at a later date at the Homosassa Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Homosassa, Florida. Williams Funeral Home of Columbia, Tennessee will be in charge of arrangements.
The Johnston County, North Carolina native was the son of the late Henry and Beulah Durham Starling. He was the husband of Violet Link Starling. Mr. Starling was a retired locksmith for Broward County, Florida School System in Fort Lauderdale . He served in the United States Army during World War II, was an avid fisherman, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hallandale, Florida.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kevin Max Elaine Starling of Moriches, NY, Regina Patterson of Waynesboro, TN and Bonita May of Homosassa, FL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother and six sisters; several nieces and nephews.
