Atha Hartley

Atha Hartley, age 94, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at St. Thomas West. Born May 23, 1919 in Columbia, TN to the late Atha Thomas and Alice “Henson” Hartley.
Atha was a hardworking man he worked for many years as a welder and construction worker. He was a man of the Baptist faith. He loved to entertain others by playing either the Banjo or Guitar, he could make those strings dance. He also loved go out and cast a line fishing, was one of his favorite pastimes.
Atha is survived by his: Son: William (Barbara) Hartley, Gene (Ann) Hartley, Ron (Betty) Hartley, and Robert (Tina) Hartley; Daughters: Margaret (Elvis) Moore and Lisa (Bill) Wilson; as well as 21 Grandchildren and a number of Great and Great Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son James Roger Hartley.
The family will visit with friends from 3:00– 7:00, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. There will be a graveside service 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Hartley Cemetery in Cross Keys, TN with Jim Olive officiating.
Atha’s grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
