Artie Mai “Layne” Lappin, 85, of Columbia, passed away May 12th, 2013.
Artie was born in Monteagle, TN to the late Alexander and Emma Rose “King” Layne. She was a member of the North View Church of Christ as well as the Philippi Church of Christ. She was a Christian role model for her entire family.
A Service for Artie will be held Wednesday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Columbia. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home Columbia. Interment will be at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: Husband; Herman Lappin, Sr. Daughters; Judy Bowling, and Brenda (Frank) Woody, Son; Herman Lappin, Jr., Grandchildren; Katrina Woody, Anthony (Ashleigh) Bowling, Jonathan Lappin, Sabrina Woody, Daniel Lappin, Rebecca (Tim) Bytwerk, and Addison Bytwerk, Siblings; Alexander “Dude”(Sue) Layne, Mary (James) Boyd, and Patsy Harris.
Artie is Preceded by: Brothers; Cleveland Layne, and Bonnie Layne, Sister; Wilhelmenia “Sister” Mullins, Son-in-law; Norman Bowling.
Pallbearers will be family and friends of Artie.
