Arthur Ray Hooper

Mr. Arthur Ray Hooper, age 69, a resident of North College St in Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, December 6, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Hooper will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Lewis County native was the son of the late Burt Arthur Hooper and Rosie Creamer Hooper. He was the husband of Mary Sue Brewer Hooper for 50 years. Mr. Hooper had been a truck driver for General Trucking, Columbia Mill and Elevator and was retired from TFE Trucking as a dock worker. He was a member of Allensville Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Teresa Kay Dennis Davis, Diane "Bunny" Randal Woodard and Jerry Sheila Hooper all of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren: Brandon Jade Woodard, Brad Davis and Jerry Lee Hooper, Jr. all of Mt. Pleasant; a sister: Kathleen Pollock of Hohenwald. He was preceded in death by two sisters, his twin sister, Martha Faye Hooper and Mary Barber and one brother: Charles Lester Hooper.
Pallbearers will be Blackie Brewer, Terry Brewer, Tim Brewer, Randy Brown, Brad Holt and Darryl Haywood.
Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of TFE Trucking, members of Allensville Baptist Church, doctors and health care givers.
Memorials may be made to the Allensville Baptist Church Building Fund, 1260 First Avenue, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
