Arthur Killiainen

Mr. Arthur ?Gramps? Kalliainen, age 89, a resident of Cothran Road in Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 17, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Kalliainen will be conducted Monday December 21, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born on June 24, 1920 in South Range, Michigan, was the son of the late August and Kiasa Kalliainen. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Spencer Kalliainen who preceded him in death in 1991. Mr. Kalliainen retired from Progressive Welding and Machinery as a carpenter in Michigan. He loved listening to polka music, loved wood working, gardening, lotto ticket scratch off?s, American made products and The Publishers Clearing House. He was a very proud Finlander and was a member of West point Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter: Ronald Roy Elizabeth Kalliainen and Helen Mangus of Columbia; grandchildren: Ted Shelley Kincaid of Shawnee, Kansas, Aaron Angela Kalliainen and Jeanny Kincaid of Columbia, Kennet Mangus of Auburn Hills, MI, Emmalee Hicks of Columbia, Robert Mangus III and Pamela Mangus of Knoxville, TN; seven great-grandchildren several close nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Roy James Kalliainen and Philip Kalliainen.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Kalliainen, Ted Kincaid, Kennet Mangus, Paul Hamblin, Robby Anderson and Gary Furkin.
