Mrs. Arlene Jones Wells went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2009 at her home on the New Lewisburg Hwy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wells will be conducted Thursday, September 24, at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Brother Ricky Cotton and Brother Brian Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home.

She was a native of Maury County, born July 1, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Maude Love Jones, several sisters and brothers and the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, Reverend Owen Smith Wells, who passed away just seven months ago. Mrs. Arlene Wells was a precious caring woman, who had compassion and concern for everyone she knew. She was wonderful wife and mother, who always showed her love for her family. She lived a Christian life and loved the Lord. She was a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church. She loved to sing and dance. She was a happy, fun loving woman who was quite the prankster in her day. She had a great since of humor. In earlier years, she worked at Kings Daughters with the mentally and physically challenged children. After that she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Arlene Wells is survived by five children: Billy Elaine Wells, Doug Diane Wells, Rex Wells, Penny Tom White, Zane Sharon Wells all of Columbia; one brother: Frank Jones of Mt. Pleasant and one sister Elise Glynn Anderson of Columbia; grandchildren include: Connie Randy Crook, Steven Wells, Jason Chelsea Sealey, Tiffany Terry Roland, Kenneth Wayne Beth King, Jr. Carrissa White, Courtney Wells, Jessica Johnston and Quade Lunn; great grandchildren include: Destiny and Bradlley Morton, Jayden and Layla Roland, Lucious Sealey, James and Emma King, Chesnea and Bryeigh Wells, Bralynn White, Sam Johnston, Alex Greer and Benjamin Crook.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth King, Jr., Steven Wells, Jason Sealey, Randy Crook, Terry Roland, Quade Lunn, Mike Anderson and Ronnie Hinson.
