Mrs. Arlene Helen DeMint, age 77, a resident of Crossville, TN, passed away on Saturday at St. Thomas Hospital.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Crossville Senior Center on Highway 127 South. Inurnment will be at the DeMint Family Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Mecosta Co, Michigan, Arlene was born March 9, 1933 to the late Archie Monroe Castle and Goldie Mae Porter Castle. She was the wife of E. Fred DeMint of Crossville, TN. Arlene was the co-owner and secretary with her husband at Big Rapids Television. The love of her life was spending time with her husband of 59 years and her family. For her services to the Cumberland County Hospice and American Red Cross, she was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Award. Arlene was a member of the Tanzi Art League, the Family and Community Education Club in Crossville and was an award-winning artist.
Survivors in addition to her husband, include her children: Linda Mike Conner of Minnesota, Sherry Rick Quist of California and Fred DeMint of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Jeff Conner of Minnesota, Brenda Devere of Montana, Christofer Lindsey of Michigan, Amy Jo Wilcox of Michigan, Douglas DeMint and Shealyn DeMint, both of Mt. Pleasant; 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Sharp and Beverly Marlette.
