Arch J. Pruitt

Mr. Arch J. Pruitt, 66, a resident of Pruitt Hollow Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, October 7, 20o5 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services for Mr. Pruitt will be conducted Sunday October 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Billy Sims and Alan Shipp officiating. Burial will be in the McClain Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
The Mt. Pleasant native was the son of the late John Thomas and Myrtle Fuller Pruitt. He was a self employed mechanic and truck driver, former owner of Pruitt Trucking, which was affiliated with Ranger Transport and former employee of Johnson Insulation in Mt. Pleasant. He was a 1957 graduate of Haylong High School. He loved fishing, hunting, telling tall tales and was known as ?8 Ball? in stockcar racing.
He is survived by a son, Tony Kristi Pruitt of Pulaski; companion, Janey Pruitt of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Allene ?Dot? Greenfield of Columbia; a brother, Charles Era Pruitt of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Raigan Pruitt and Xayne Pruitt, both of Pulaski; a step-son, Donny Dye of Columbia; four nephews, Ronnie Dean Greenfield and Jason Greenfield, both of Columbia, Jeffery ?Roscoe? Pruitt and Joel Thomas Pruitt, both of Mt. Pleasant; a niece, Kristi Hutzel of LaVergne, TN; several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Pruitt.
Pallbearers will be Donny Dye, Jeffery Pruitt, Joel Pruitt, Ronnie Dean Greenfield, Jason Greenfield and Sammy Chennault. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Pruitt, Butch Holder and the friends at Little Bit?s Bar & Grill.
