Anthony John Girsch of Columbia passed away on January 25, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center at the age of 98 with his family by his side.
Anthony was born on June 7, 1920 to the late Anthony Girsch and Agnes Bylecki Girsch. He rode on a bomber in WWII in the South Pacific which resulted in a love for making model airplanes and going to airshows. He was also an artist who loved woodworking. Anthony was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The family describes him as their Best Buddy and Pal.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 73 years; Loretta Zuhowski, daughter; Pat Barry of Columbia, Tennessee, daughter; Debra (David) Quackenbush of Chester, New York, granddaughters; Lori (Michael) Kisiel of Columbia, Rebecca Quackenbush of Chester, New York, grandson; Michael Quackenbush of Chester, New York, and great-granddaughter; Katie Kisiel of Columbia, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by William Girsch, Lawrence Girsch, Edward Girsch, Frank Girsch and Lee Romano.
A private entombment will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens.
