Mrs. Annie H. Peyton, 91, a resident of North Elm Street in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, August 18 at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Peyton will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, August 20 in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with James Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:30 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
Born February 3, 1919 in Lewis County, she was the daughter of the late Sullivan and Jessica Clayton Hinson and the wife of the late James M. Peyton. She worked as a food demonstrator and made draperies at Mrs. Jackson's in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter: Rebecca Brooks Cook of Mt. Pleasant; sister: Carolyn Mathis of Linden; sister-in-law: Tommie Ruth Workman of Madison; brothers-in-law: Bobby Ruth Ann Peyton of McEwen, Edward Loveless of Centerville and Clovis Parnell of Linden. She was preceded in death by sisters: Barbara Nell Baker, Betty Parnell, Jean Skelton, Nettie Loveless; two infant children.
Pallbearers will be Hendley Edwards, Richard Hendrix, Luc Edwards, Charles Crotzer, Johnny Gibson and Randy Sprouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelia Prince, Harold Hinson, Christine Pullen, Beverly Edwards, Genette Clayton, Sondra Wright, Dr. Thomas Dake, Dr. Paul Perryman, Andrea Yizer and Glenda Runions with Maury Regional Home Health.
