Annie “Sue” Dickens, age 73, of Columbia, passed away at her residence on Mon. June 20, 2016.
Sue was born on Oct. 27, 1942 in Maury County, TN to the late Joshua and Nora Lee Boshers. She and Roy Dickens married on July 10, 1959 and they spent 57 years together, and shared three children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked as a cosmetologist at Fantastic Sams.
Sue is survived by her loving husband: Roy Dickens of Columbia; children: Paula Odom of Mt. Pleasant; Doug (Kay) Dickens of Columbia, and Troy (Pamela) Dickens of LaVergne; grandchildren: Samuel Odom, Joel (Kristie) Odom, Makayla Dickens, Braddox Dickens, Jennifer LaBelle, Jessica Gunnels, Shelby Dickens, Jodie Dickens, Thomas Dickens, and Hunter Dickens; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces; and 1 nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Eddie Frank Boshers and Nora Annette Armstrong.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dickens will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Frankie Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, June 22 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Jennifer LaBelle, Jessica Gunnels, Shelby Dickens, Jodie Dickens, Hunter Dickens, Makayla Dickens, Troy Dickens, Micheal Boshers, Sammy Odom, Joel Odom and Thomas Dickens will serve as pallbearers. Doug Dickens will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank current and past employees of Fantastic Sams, Dr. Reed and Staff, Dr. Woodley and Staff, MRMC Cancer Center and the Staff of Hospice Compassus.
