Anna May Young Pierce, age 89, resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, at her residence.
Anna May was born November 30, 1927, in Flint, MI, the daughter of the late George Young and Dagne Malm Young. She was the wife of the late Jimmie Pierce, Sr. She was a former longtime resident of Dearborn Heights, MI. Anna May was an avid crocheter and loved sewing. She had a strong faith in God.
Survivors include her daughter, Diana Abray and daughter-In-law, Joann Pierce of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Robert Young of Trafford, PA; grandchildren, Kelly (Chris) Jones, Lorraine Pierce, Jimmie J. Pierce, III, Kyle Pierce, all of Mt. Pleasant and Ann (Ray) Palmer, of MO and Rojean Pierce, Jimmie A. Pierce and Lionel Pierce, all of MI; one great-grandson whom she raised, Aaron Cummins; 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, a special niece and nephew, Kim and Keith Burroughs along with several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Jimmie J. Pierce, Jr., and Carl Pierce, 2 sisters, Cornelia Young and Georgia Young, one grandson , David Abray, Jr., and son-in-law, David Abray, Sr.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M.in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
