Anna Pearl Porter Brady, age 96, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Life Care of Columbia.
Anna was born on March 20, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, to Henry Porter and Daisy Marie Tyler Porter. She was married to John Lewis Brady. She was a dedicated Christian lady and was a long-time member at Southgate Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being outdoors, especially raising beautiful flowers. Her favorite place to be was her patio, enjoying God’s beautiful creations. She was a very direct and matter-of-fact personality, but also a very loving lady. She was also a hard working woman, having worked at Publix Shirt Factory, as a button-hole operator.
Anna is survived by her children: Jerry Lewis (Shirley) Brady, Delorese (Dewayne) Clark, Neal (Teresa) Brady, and Freda (Randall) Scott; grandchildren: Steven Brady, Lori Barnes, Mike Mencer, Carl Mencer, Thomas Mencer, Deborah Mencer, Nicholas Hill, and Akira Smithson; 24 great-grandchildren; and brothers: David Ray Porter, Bill Porter, Kern Porter, Gary Porter, and Gene Porter. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Daisy Marie Porter; husband: John Lewis Brady; grandson: Cameron Scott; and siblings: Clara Mae Luck, Lee Porter, Edward Porter.
Funeral services for Anna will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, with John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, January 17 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
