Mrs. Anna Burnett McGaw, age 84, long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, June 2 at NHC/ Hillview.
Graveside services for Mrs. McGaw will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Edd Brown officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 5:00 ? 7:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Born in Gordonsburg, TN on October 29, 1925, Anna was the daughter of the late Leslie Hardin Burnett and Mary Bond Burnett. She was the wife of the late Samuel Marshall "Mike" McGaw. Mrs. McGaw was a graduate of Brenau University and Bowling Green Business College. She was a homemaker, a long time member of the James K. Polk Association and loved knitting. Anna was a faithful member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include her children: Leslie Al Hickman of Columbia, Marshall Jean McGaw of Pensacola, FL and David Stephanie McGaw of Brentwood; a son-in-law: Ron Neal of Columbia; one sister: Mary Bond Offutt of Tullahoma; grandchildren include: Jeb Cathy Dailey, fiancé Neal of Knoxville, Mary Leslie Heath Racine of West Lafayette, IN, Sam McGaw and Dee McGaw, both of Brentwood, Laura Hickman of Columbia, Christy Willie Street of Spring Hill, Brent Tammy Hickman of Cookeville, Marc Leslie McGaw of Pensacola, FL, Jessica Captain Matt Aldrich of Heidelberg, Germany and Jacob McGaw of Pensacola, FL; 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. McGaw was preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Anna Neal and two brothers: Leslie Hardin "Bud" Burnett and John William "Bucky' Burnett.
Pallbearers will be Jeb Neal, Marc McGaw, Jacob McGaw, Sam McGaw, Dee McGaw, Brent Hickman, Ron Neal and Al Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of NHC/Hillview.
