On Friday, November 30, 2018, Ann Lura Clark went to join her loving husband, Harold “Pete” Clark. Before this joyful reunion, Ann lived a long, loving and Christian life.
Ann was born on May 15, 1930, in Columbia, TN to the late Lee and Mae Madden. After marrying Daddy Pete on May 20, 1950, Ann soon became Momma Ann to her four children; Ronnie, Teresa, David, and Tammy. In addition to her own children and through her work at Kiddie Cottage she became Momma Ann to many other children in Mt. Pleasant. Momma Ann always had a devoted love for all of her “kiddies.” As time often does for the blessed, Ann soon moved on to becoming, Granny Ann, a title in life that she truly cherished as she lavished her love to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann lived her life much the same way as she shopped, with unbridled joy and gusto. Her mischievous giggle was a giveaway that life was good for Ann and she will be dearly missed by all of us that loved her so much. Our hearts are comforted with the thought that Granny Ann has gone to be with her beloved, Daddy Pete.
Her family will celebrate Ann’s life in service on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Ann is survived by her sons; Ronnie (Mary) Clark and David Clark; daughters: Teresa (Donald) Barker and Tammy Orr; special friend: Deborah Clark: grandchildren: Brian (Teresa) Barker, Brandy (Mike) King, Brooke (Brandon) Fritz, Kimberly (Bryant) Workman, Kelley Clark Scharrer, Jamie Orr and John Orr; cousins: Betty Anderson, Joanna Hurst, Ruth Ann and Margie. Her 14 great-grandchildren also survive her.
