Alvin Queener, 74, a resident of Summer Oak Circle in Summertown, slipped from this life quietly and peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2002 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Queener will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Deep Springs Baptist Church in Dandridge, TN with Rev. Tois Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Deep Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with remarks by Rev. Cleo Bunt. They will also visit with friends on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the church.
He was a native of Jacksboro, TN, the son of the late Harvy Lee and Bessie McDeermon Queener. He was the husband of 48 years of Iris L. Seay Queener of Summertown.
He was retired after 30 years of service from Wards Bakery in Michigan. He was an Army veteran of WW II and attended Ethridge Baptist Church until his illness made him a shut-in.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Danny Darlene Queener of Spring Hill; two grandchildren, Danielle Queener and Dana Queener of Spring Hill; two sisters, Christine Miller of Glen Bernie, MD and Aline Gibson of Lafollette, TN; two brothers, Austin Queener of Jacksboro, TN and J. D. Queener of Clinton, TN. Several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Dorthy Davis and Betty Jo Willoughby and one brother, Eugene Queener, preceded him in death.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
