Alvin E. Brown

July 17, 1930 — March 25, 2003

Mr. Alvin E. Brown, 72, a resident of Creek Trail in Columbia, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted Friday, March 28, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Vassar officiating. Entombment will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Johnnie Burl and Mollie Reese Brown. He was the husband of the late Barbara Hooper Brown. He was a retired foreman for GE. He was a member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church and the Tennessee National Guard.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Gilley and Deborah Chapman of Columbia, TN, and Laura William Preston of New Smyrna Beach, FL; a son, Jeffery Brown of Columbia, TN; a sister, Sara Crownover of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren, Christy Jason Kelley, Jeremy Gilley, T.J. Brown, and Amber Chapman all of Columbia, TN, Anthony Rebecca Gilley of Thompson Station, TN, Leslie Coker and Joseph Ferlitto both of new Smyrna Beach, FL; three great grandchildren, Jordan Kelley and Bailey Kelley both of Columbia, TN, and Bryce McDaniel of New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Pallbearers will be Roy Crownover, Jason Kelley, Anthony Gilley, Jeremy Gilley, William Preston, and William Crownover. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of NHC/ Hillview and Dr. John Simmons.

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 2712 Trotwood Avenue Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
