Mrs. Alura Tucker Sims, 77, a resident of Adams Avenue in Mt. Pleasant went to be with her Lord and Savior with her two sons and a grandson by her side on April 24th at Signature Healthcare.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sims will be conducted Tuesday, April 27th at 2:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the McClain Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was born July 25, 1932, Alura was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mattie Kay Keltner Tucker. She was the wife of Odies Sims who preceded her in death. She worked for the Deri-Gem for 25 years in Mt. Pleasant and then became a wonderful homemaker in 1995. Alura love watching baseball especially the Braves, Vanderbilt Football and basketball and reading novels. She especially loved reading the Bible and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
She is survived by two sons: Bobby Katie Sims of Summertown and Douglas Sims of Mt. Pleasant; one brother and four sisters: JesseLoreneTucker of Hohenwald, Sarah Graff of Culleoka, Irene Stewart of Michigan, Kitty Fred Heathcock of Nashville and Mary Norman Fryer of Michigan; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Baker of Summertown, Cody Sims and Greta Steve McConnell of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn McConnell, Colby McConnell and Sam McConnell of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Sims.
Pallbearer will be Steve McConnell, Danny Pierce, Cody Sims, Troy Lanier, Steve Atobell and James Green.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all members of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
