Allen G. Balk

July 8, 1945 — August 3, 2005

Mr. Allen Balk, 60, a resident of Tice Drive in Culleoka, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Balk will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Charles Bradley and Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the US Navy and the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday and 4:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Born in Corpus Christi, TX, he was the son of the late Louis and Hildegard Blomeling Balk and husband of Frances Gunter Balk. He was retired from the tool and die at Saturn and a Vietnam Veteran with the Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Erin Chad Bateman of Grand Rapids, MI; two sons, Justin Jennifer Boes of Slidell, LA and Mathew Tiffany Boes of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Gage Bateman and Brooke Bateman, both of Grand Rapids, MI and Gabby Boes of Slidell, LA; two sisters, Judy Dick DeHann of Jenison, MI and Trish Les Lanser of Holland, MI; two brothers Steve Rhonda Balk of Wyoming, MI and Mike Kay Balk of Jenison, MI.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Sharpton, Dennis Sarvis, Scotty Young, Roy Jones, Ray Williams and Steve Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Worthman, Dr. Jamison, Dr. Messenger, Dr. Woodley, Dr. Toban, Dr. Ben Gardner and the Country Cruisers Car Club of Maury County.
