Mr. Alfred Thomas Slaughter, 76, died Monday, November 10, 2003 at his residence on South High Street in Columbia.
Funeral services for Mr. Slaughter will be conducted Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Leonard Deen officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Buck and Hattie Scott Slaughter. He was the husband of Ophelia Fitzgerald Slaughter of Columbia. He was retired from Union Carbide Corporation and a member of the Philippi Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Dell Ricky L. Jones of Culleoka, TN, Shelia Clark and Patsy Ray Owens of Santa Fe, TN; a sister, Lera Chapman of Hohenwald, TN; his grandchildren, Steve Karen Clark, Tim Owens, Christy Terry Armstrong, Brandon Megan Ring, Chris Kristin Clark, Misty Ring, and Hilary Jones; his great grandchildren, Michael Owens, Christina Armstrong, Elizabeth Armstrong, Katlyn Armstrong, Madeline Carroll, Lilyanna Ring, and Ryan Thomas Clark.
Pallbearers will be Danny Slaughter, Kirby Slaughter, Ryan Slaughter, David Slaughter, Ernie Ward, and Elmer Ring. Honorary pallbearers will be the member of Philippi Church of Christ, Zachery Ward, Terry Armstrong, Jeremy Hedrick, Leslie Goad, Donald Brummitt, and David Clark.
